Moment

I have been swimming in these waters for a very long time.  You can imagine my surprise when they, from time to time, pick me up and carry me away somewhere completely unexpected.  There’s nothing I can do about it, so I might as well sit back and enjoy the ride.  It only happens when I am least expecting it and it literally sweeps me off my feet and carries me away in a haze of liquid beauty.

In that moment, when I am floating away to unknown and faraway lands, there is nothing else in existence except that world. There is only happiness and love and certainly no room for anything dark.

As I draw nearer to it, I am bathed in its joy and warmth and there is something about it that makes me feel so understood.  Not just understood either, but understood and validated.

We start out so naive and hopeful, when things are sweet and young and new.  Then we spend the rest of our lives “learning lessons” and become quite cynical.  To the point of poisoning any attempt life throws at us to regain some of that sense of wonder and awe.

Then, just when you think it’s too late for you, life goes and drops a bombshell on you. Next thing you know, you’re floating through the waters in all their splendid colors, and you’re spreading wings of hope and flying toward the heavens.

In that one brief moment in time, you can literally do anything you want and go anywhere your heart desires – because nothing else exists.  Just that one world ahead, where you are being drawn like a magnet, through life, time and space. Nothing else exists and nothing else matters, because in that one moment in time, you are incapable of experiencing anything less than bliss.

I wish for every person on this planet to experience that one moment, at least once in their lifetime.
